Leg Up, Back Up!

Samantha Schou and Sarah McVeigh are the two girls behind the “up” projects, the first being tights and their second is T-shirts. The back up launch will be at Nine Lives Gallery, in The Valley, the girls will be presenting T’s with an array of artworks from local designers printed on the back. Of course PCOX has submitted a design.

Faster Pussy Cat

Faster Pussy Cat is a “secret” vintage sale being held at the Fort in November, one of the creators Sarah McVeigh is creating a zine by the same name, Faster Pussy Cat. PCOX will feature in the first issue along with other female designers and artists.

A Fresh Crop of Boyz

Male models in Brisbane usually invoke images of greasy, hair removed men who don’t represent the current trends in masculine image. The ideals of beauty are changing and we don’t want to see our clothes on stereotypical muscle men but want to mix it up and see some boys like Ash Stymest or Cole Mohr in Brissy.

Here are three of the models from PCOX’s latest campaign:

Mentors of Fashion Graduates 2009

Suzi Vaughan

Suzi watches over the whole designing and production of the collections, she helps the students to develop their concepts, colour palettes and silhouettes. She also organises the Graduate parade held in November every year.

Kay McMahon

Kay is the business and wholesale lecturer, she brings the students back to the real world with her industry experience. With out Kay the students would all go bankrupt one year out of uni. She is always excited about new ideas and wears the best clothes and has the nicest hair!

Wendy Armstrong

“Wendy is God” Jeremy Gillis once said as she always has time to find the solution to your problem. She is the sewing and pattern making lecturer for the third years and puts her heart and sole into helping the students to achieve their grand and usually impossible designs.

Mark Neighbour

Mark is a studio technician but also a friend of the students, he is a very skilled sewer and pattern maker and will always be willing to offer great suggestions.
